The weather forecast was dubious but those that turned up on the Saturday were in for a great treat as there was glorious sunshine and non stop racing all day long with plenty of track time for those that signed on for Run What Ya Brung. The Supercharged Outlaws also put in some excellent runs as well as the UK Power Tour and Outlaw Street Race series’.

The American car fans were also treated to access to the Monster Truck Nationals which turned out to be the one of the best Monster Truck competitions ever seen in Europe.

Unfortunately Sunday was not quite as sunny as Saturday but that didn't dampen spirits, the show n shine was open and saw some immaculate machines turn up. Thanks to the determination of the track crew, the track was open before you knew it and racers were given an extra hour to qualify for the Street Car Shootout with £500 cash prize. Positions were changed right up to the last minute of qualifying but come 2 o clock the elimination ladders were set.

There were some great races but the final came down to the 2 consistently fastest cars and numbers 1 and 2 qualifiers. Andrew Murton in his Camaro and Jeff Thurston in his Mustang. It was a great final but at the line it was Andrew Murton that took the win with a great 9.1 second run from a street legal car, a time worthy of running in the Street Eliminator Race series and a huge personal best!

It was a difficult one to judge but here are the winners.

Show

Top 5 - D. Coleselhill - 1966 Chevy Impala

This heavily modified Impala turned heads whenever it moved, if it wasn’t the flame job that caught your attention, the sound certainly would have, this was one of the most popular cars in the paddock.

Top 5 - Simon Turner - 2008 Ford Mustang

The only late model vehicle to win a trophy, this tastefully modified mustang was done to such a high quality we had to give it a trophy.

Show

Top 5 - Roy Collins - 1957 Chevy 210

This car was faultless both inside and out and it was good to see it being used on the track too.

Top 5 - Rob Kerr - 1976 Pontiac Trans Am

A lot of effort had clearly gone into keeping this Trans Am as original as possible and it was done so well it had to be one of the Top 5.

Top 5 - Peter Dobson - 1960 Chevrolet Biscagne

Another imported winner, this was one of the first cars here and it’s owners patience was rewarded with one of the Top 5 trophies, another stunning vehicle both inside and out.

Judge’s Choice - Georgia Watts - Silver Tot Rod

Georgia turned up bright and early and parked next to the biggest car in the show n shine which made this tot rod look even smaller but it was good to see her putting in a lot of effort cleaning the car, earning her a deserved judge's choice trophy, presented by Xander Hodgson of The American Auto Barn Ltd.

Judge’s Choice - B Gibson - Dodge 64 – AWB

This immaculate gasser style race car has only been in the UK since the end of 2009 the judges couldn’t resist giving this a Judge’s choice trophy.

The track was closed and trophies were presented and with the weekend ticket including Mondays RWYB too it was over to "Deaf By Thirty" for some live music for those that stayed for the evening.

Thanks to everyone that came along and supported the show we hope you all had a great time.
